Zénith de Strasbourg is France’s shining star

zenith de strasbourg

Massimiliano Fuksas designed this and Pierre Negre lit it up! The combined result of their endeavor is the truly spectacular Zénith de Strasbourg. Zénith de Strasbourg is France’s largest multipurpose venue, which was opened earlier this year. It is located in the Alsace region and has been built as a forum for some of the world’s best artistes. With seating capacity of ten thousand and a host of modern technology’s what nots, this site is already a major attraction in France. The Urban Community of Strasbourg, the Administration of Bas-Rhin, the Alsace Region and the State, all had their due part to play in the erection of a site as wonderful as Zénith de Strasbourg. It is built of tensioned textile membrane and is characterized by its unique orange web and decentralized ellipses. To light the 12,000 sq meters Pierre erected eight masts: each measuring 22 meters in height and housing five exterior 600 color changers. The textile reflects the myriad of colors from the light perfectly and truly makes the Zénith a remarkable spectacle for the visitors.
