Chanel is all set to conquer the world with its Mobile Art Container. The U.F.O. inspired container is the result of the mergence of two artistically inclined professionals – Chanel’s Karl Lagerfield, and ace architect, Zaha Hadid.

The project, which is the result of a chance meeting between the two in the lobby of the Mercer Hotel in New York, aims at creating a spectacle that would align Chanel with contemporary art and design. The Mobile Art Container will be made of glistening-white fiberglass with a ring of interactive exhibition space inside. The mobile gallery will roam the world from 2008 to 2010 displaying the work of 18 international artists.

Zaha Hadid’s magical intervention will definitely work wonders for strengthening Chanel’s brand image. Lagerfield is very enthusiastic about the project. He says,

We could have inundated the world with ads, but it is a more noble project.

The Mobile Art Container is a spectacular gift to the world of art.
