The popularity of the iPods and other MP3 players has grown phenomenally in the past few years with billions of people across the world using these devices to listen to their favorite music. There is no denying the fact that the storage capacity of these gadgets has increased with the passage of the time, but the design of the iPods and MP3 players has remained more or less same. These gadgets still feature the clip which can be used to fix them on the belt and who can forget the wired earplugs. But some innovative designers have now come up with MP3 players which have a unique design because these MP3 players can be worn on the wrist. These unique MP3 players have been designed keeping in the mind the needs of the fashionable geeks.
1. MP3 Player Creative
Brazilian designer Dinard da Mata, who is well-known for designing the Fluid Smartphone, deserves credit for designing a MP3 player which is wearable on the wrist. This wrist worn MP3 player can definitely become a style statement for the next-gen users. Dinard has named his new portable music player “MP3 Player Creative.” This cute MP3 player sports an OLED screen that is flexible. This screen displays the playlist and also allows the user to select the song or control volume. The user can do this by just tapping on the flexible OLED screen. The user can wear this sleek and stylish MP3 player around his wrist like a bracelet. The wrist worn allows the uses to access the functions easily. The headphones of this MP3 player is wireless, which means you can enjoy your music without getting disturbed by the problems caused due to the wires of the headphones or earphones.
2. Wrist MP3 Player by Nathan Davis
Designed by Nathan Davis, this wrist worn MP3 player has been designed specially for runners. Davis has loaded this music player with all the features which are present in normal MP3 players. This music player features an OLED screen, which has been placed under a polycarbonate layer to keep it safe from scratch. The jog wheel is present on this Mp3 player’s outer edge. This jog wheel has bumps and it can be rotated in either direction. The jog wheel features a tactile sensitive ring. The song tracking and volume is controlled by this jog wheel. A button is also fitted on the outside, which allows the user to switch between volume and tracking mode as and when required. This MP3 player is free from headphone jack because it uses Bluetooth headphone. This wrist worn MP3 player lacks GPS capability. This unique and modern MP3 player displays time as well.
3. iBangle wearable
The wrist worn MP3 player named iBangle wearable was unveiled in 2008. This sleek and stylish MP3 player is the brainchild of designer Gopinath Prasana. The iBangle concept looks like the future iPod. Prasana’s iBangle has turned the iPod into a wrist worn MP3 player, which can be wrapped around just like a bracelet. The inner face of the iBangle has an adjustable air chamber, which can be inflated for a snug fit. Navigation in this high-tech MP3 player is controlled by multi-touch trackpad. This MP3 player does not have wired headphones and sound would be transmitted to in-ear headphones wirelessly. iBangle is made of thin aluminum. The sleek design of this innovative gadget will definitely attract many geeks. Unfortunately, this is just a design concept and it is still unclear when this MP3 player would go into production.
4. Cricket – Wrist Phone/MP3 Player
American designer Blair Miller has come up with a brilliant concept wrist device named the Cricket. Miller’s concept is for a gadget which can be used as both a wrist phone and an MP3 player. This concept device is activated by voice. It has some other keys to control song track, volume etc. The Cricket features Bluetooth connectivity facility which allows the user to connect it to wireless headsets and other Bluetooth compatible gadgets. The Cricket uses no wire at all. You can wear this sleek and stylish gadget on your wrist just like a bracelet.
5. Tick Tack Music Watch
Designer Apostol Tnokovski has come up with a wrist worn MP3 player named the Tick Tack Music Watch. The designer claimed that he has designed this music player keeping in mind the needs of the teenagers. The controls of this unique and stylish MP3 player are under the dial. The strap of this MP3 player is wide. It also displays time on an analogue dial.
