Developed to explore expanded timecode vinyl, the “Vinyl+” by Jonas Bohatsch is an interactive system that makes use of visual and interactive elements to revolutionize the turntable DJing. Projecting the subsequent visuals onto the vinyl record rotating on the turntable, the new system sends the rotational speed and needle position to a processing sketch on a computer to run the turntable. You need to speed up or slow down the record to influence or control the visual and the sound effects. In addition, you can scratch the record and even relocate the needle on the vinyl.
