Versatile Chef^4: 4 in 1 Baking System for the Oakwood Group

By Asmita Prasad   /Jan 4 2012

Created for the Oakwood Group by designer Sarah R L Johnson, the Chef^4: 4 in 1 Baking System seeks to broaden the types of recipes that can be made within an oven appliance. The system allows home cooks to cook dishes more evenly and quickly cook food with their regular ovens in ways that current bake ware options cannot. With an interchangeable mesh tray and an expandable silicone airtight cover, the system utilizes the excellent airflow properties of expanded/perforated metal which lets this all in one system serve many functions.

To produce an enhanced baking effect, the expanded metal of the Chef^4: 4 in 1 Baking System allow maximum airflow around the food being baked. In a convection oven, this results in more even and faster cooking. The expanded metal tray does not trap moisture making it perfect for crisping pizzas and taco shells. Cooks can also season their food right on the tray since the overflow will fall through they grate and be caught by the bottom pan instead of falling on the bottom of the oven.

Steaming is also super easy and super efficient with the innovative system. With the addition of the silicone cover, vegetables, breads, fish etc. can easily be steamed to perfection. Users simply need to fill the bottom pan with an inch of water and snap on cover to start steaming their food.

The Chef^4: 4 in 1 Baking System also allows home cooks to get a professional-level basting done. Basting large or small poultry can be done with the help of the same baking system. To baste a bird, for example a Turkey, you simply need to place your poultry on the grate and let the juice drip into bottom pan. This keeps the turkey above the juice and prevents the bottom from becoming soggy. This also allows the home cook to easily access the juice and they can gather them up with a baster and redistribute over the turkeys as and when desired.
