Foster + Partners to build Abu Dhabi World Trade Center

UK’s leading architectural firm Foster + Partners had been commissioned to come up with an architectural design for the proposed World trade center in Abu Dhabi and as always they have not disappointed. The design for this building, which will be built on the Al Raha Beach was revealed this week at Cannes. Its unique design makes appear as though one were looking at it through a thin veil of hot air. This appearance is primarily because of the louvers meant to minimize heat or solar gain within the premises. Taking into account the climate and desert winds of this region the roof of the structure has also been streamlined to let in the cool currents in order that the offices and apartments within the structure stay cool and ventilated. As one enters the building, they will see a central area which towers up till the roof, which again is shielded from the heat by the offices and apartments.

With the design done, the project is due to start this summer. This unique superstructure, ‘designed for the climate,’ is bound to set tongues wagging while putting, yet again, this small middle Asian country on the charts of must see destinations.
