An orange symbolizes a lot of things; the citrus color, a tempting fruit, refreshing juice on the breakfast table and the peel for an unbeatable skin. Add to that list one more interpretation when I say that orange is a symbol of opulence in Russia. Hence, the name and the design of Project Orange undertaken by Foster + Partners. This project endeavors to create an architectural entity which combines a museum with contemporary art and living. A series of hotel segments and residential area encircle the central museum rather beautifully and it will have 15 storeys to it. Temperature has been given due importance with the compact structure protecting this building from the cold and glazed slots will bring in more natural light for a warm ambience. The look is delicious to the eye with orange base that turns silver as one moves the gaze up. This building will house everything from museum to generous shops and even eating joints and bars. The Project Orange has definitely set the creative juices flowing, and I’m sure the in-house specialty in drinks will have orange juice on top of the menu!
