Jun Murakoshi was born in 1978 and grew up in Saitama, Japan. Being influenced by designs and forms, he graduated with a Master of Engineering in Industrial Design from the Chiba University Graduates School. After completing a year as a research student he moved to London where he completed his studies at Design Products, Royal College of Art in 2007.
There is no doubt that batches from Royal College of Art are always innovative and make it big and Jun proves just the same. He has worked on various designs starting from chairs to stools, and like the modern day designers, functionality is the essence of his designs. His latest work includes chairs. At the first look these chairs look too simple to be owned but they aren’t at all as simple as they look. They can be stacked and stacked not merely as chairs but a beautiful designer shelf. Yeah! The chairs are designed in such an innovative way that they can be stacked into shelf giving you a space for putting up your things! That’s what we call an amalgamation of functionality and style!
