Spherical Car Concepts for a splendid ride

Created by Bulgarian designer Krasimir Emilov Asenov, this is an electric car powered by several engines. All the engines are dependent on an accumulated battery and an advanced solar energy system. The outer solar energy panel collects power and supplies to all the engines. The vehicle has a spherical shape and its left/right turnings are based on gyroscopic systems. It moves using a tire mechanism mounted on a track system. Trust me if the concept goes under production, then the highways are going to look very different within few years.

Designed by German designer Oliver May, you can easily call this car as the future of transport. Multiple cabins can be attached to the main unit of the vehicle, making it perfect for consumer use, public transportation and freight. Going to make entry in the market in 2046, these spheres take inspiration from the buildings that make up the Shanghai skyline.

Created by German designer Tilmann Schlootz, the Snook concept is an agile and original personal mobility solution that moves on a sphere. Driven by a multidirectional engine, it looks similar to the gyro car from The Ring, a novel by Piers Anthony and Robert Margroff. The engine consists of a sphere wheel and allows the driver to steer and navigate the auto stabilized cain in every direction, including on the side and backwards, as well as to turn on a point. The designer says that while designing the car he imagined two billiards balls standing on each other. The cool concept picked the win at the Michelin Design Challenge at the Detroit Auto Show 2008.

The concept known as Supple is an electrically powered chair driven by a spherical wheel. Capable of moving in any direction, the vehicle uses a communication system called Automatic Guide Vehicle (AGV) that allows it to go wireless and use GPS map to navigate driver. The user can control it with a tow server motor and one processor. While using GPS the user clicks the location on console and it takes the driver to that point without any effort.
