Sink table lamp works like a hourglass

With the development of human race, man has become too ambitious to coexistence with the Nature in harmony, exploiting natural resources relentlessly for his petty material goals. Therefore, the Nature has to make unceasing concessions to go-getting human aspirations. Inspired by an hourglass, a conventional device used for measuring time, Hong Kong-based designer Polly Chau has created an innovative desk lamp dubbed the “Sink” that works similar to the sand sinking slowly in an hourglass. Featuring the case finished in ceramic, the table lamp makes use of LEDs to illuminate your place. Sinking the point of light by time within half an hour, the lamp needs to be reversed or turned upside down to turn on the light once again. The Sink lamp carries a symbolic message and urges people to coexist with the natural surrounding and treasure the limited sources of energy for future generations.
