Developed as part of a Tangible User Interface Module in the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, the “Sidetrack” by Jacek Barcikowski, Jennifer Kay and Martina Pagura is a project intended toward the “home-office” culture that creates a tangible culmination of your working day. The Sidetrack table allows you to reflect on your daily work routine by drawing a pattern of your behavior. By placing sensors in areas you wish to observe, the marker moves as you move from space to space. Incorporating the mechanics of an old printer and B&O turntable, the handcrafted table becomes an omniscient narrator of the intangible pockets of time and energy you dedicate to working, allowing a healthy way to alternate your static day. Go past the break to see the videos.
