An entry at the “Green Life” design competition, organized by Designboom in collaboration with Incheon Metropolitan City, KOREA, the “SHELF” by Chinese designer Leon Zhu is a foldable sunshine cover that doubles as rear wing to improve the stability of the vehicle. Protecting your car from the heat of the sun in hot summers, the Shelf harnesses the solar power and turns it into electricity to supply green energy to the air-conditioner, taillight and other electronic equipments of your vehicle. When not in use or on the move, the sunshine cover neatly folds in the rear wing to stabilize the vehicle at high speed.
