SDESIGNUNIT’s recent work for Daelim focuses on identity

While designing a series of home fixtures for Daelim, a Korean construction company, one of the major challenges for SDESIGNUNIT was to establish identity. The outlet fixtures included light switches, plug plates, intercom systems and remote control. SDESIGNUNIT replaced rectangle with a square as a model for creating these fixtures and the upshot was a series of neat, user-friendly solutions. The light switch is a ‘push button type’ with an LED light emitting from the inside. The thermostat control is set in the fixture’s frame and the indicator is placed within the central square. The area used as button parts on switch has been used to display information of temperature status. The top and bottom of the metallic plate function as interfaces for controlling temperature, so that the temperature regulator’s complexity gets minimized. The remote control for the lighting switch boasts a standing, round shape and it’s easy to hold and use. A home networking display controls all the fixtures. SDESIGNUNIT’s work for Daelim has all its focus on the interior identity.
