Sang-Hoon Lee’s Revolution Dumbbell takes workout to the future

While us lazy bums were busy getting swept off our feet with infomercials promoting miraculous cures for obesity, designer Sang-Hoon Lee was hard at work creating a set of electronic dumbbells that would make working out a whole lot easier for people who actually do it. The Revolution Dumbbell is actually a revolutionary dumbbell design that allows you to digitally adjust weight while you’re working out. Astonishing as it is, but the bars let you increase or decrease the weight of the dumbbell by simply rotating a dial and punching a few buttons. Now the take is that the dumbbells have tiny balls inside that spin to generate weight, and the faster they spin, the more weight is generated which of course, basically means that you will no longer have to change or add plates to your dumbbells when you work out. Pretty cool, but I definitely think Lee should have included a mechanism that could get us off the couch to get us to use this thing in the first place!
