Natural calamities not only destroy lives and wealth in bulk, but also separate people, looking for a safe refuge, from their families and friends. Addressing the issue, Danish designer Pedro Nakazato Andrade has come up with a mobile application called the “Refuge Finder” for relief workers that makes use of a mobile camera-phone to register the disaster victim at the aid stations, including a hospital, Red Cross center, relief camp, etc. Installing the photograph and basic biographical information, together with time and place of registration of the victim, the hi-tech aid system shares the information with other aid stations, so it could be displayed their publicly, or even broadcasted on television and the internet.
