It is nice to see creative products that turn out to be elegant as well. This elegant takes some intricacy to achieve, hence we see a number of products that aim to to be innovative but just don’t quite cut it, if you know what I mean. The PAL Vase certainly has originality to it, but it falls short on functionality. Combo products like the camera-phone and the flashlight-keychain are practical because the camera-phone makes picture messaging easy and the flashlight being attached to the key chain makes it very accessible. However, there is not much functionality to combining a flower vase with a radio, albeit a waterproof radio. It would probably have made a more appealing product if the radio were a CD player instead; that way it would make for a good bathroom music player. Despite its shortcomings, we have to appreciate the process it took to design a waterproof radio, and the vase to wrap around its edges.
