Winner of the Autodesk Design Award at the 2010 Shell Eco Marathon in the “Urban Concept Cars” category, the “Nios” is a hydrogen-fueled city car concept that appears practical for the real world. Accommodating two passengers in a stylish, airy and comfortable interior in a tandem arrangement, the futuristic car runs on a DC electric motor powered by an advanced hydrogen fuel cell system. Based around a wooden frame that provides rollover protection for passengers, the concept vehicle just weighs 400kgs (882 lbs) to move you around 500 Km (310 miles) on a single liter (0.26 gallons) of fuel.

Created by a team of students and professors at three German universities and colleges, including University of Art and Design in Halle, Technical University Chemnitz and the College of Further Education in Merseburg, the Nios features a unique design and provides a reasonable space for your luggage and personal belongings.
