A decommissioned stabilizer from a copy of the legendary Grumman HU-16 Albatross was used to fashion this Albatross Aileron Conference Table. Created by airplane-parts-to-home-and-office-furniture specialists MotoArt, the table is made from the ailerons of both the right and left wing of the historic Grumman amphibious flying boat.

Developed to rescue downed pilots by landing in open ocean situations, the Albatross was an evolved variant of the original Grumman Mallard. Primarily employed as a combat S&R and general S&R aircraft by the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force from 1949-95, the amphibious flying boat powered by a large twin-radial engine still incites passion among aviation enthusiasts.

With a width of 60 inches, these ailerons can be manufactured to suit any specific size between 8' and 18' lengthwise. To accentuate the rib structure, the under paneling of the aileron is fashioned from turned aluminum and can be powder coated in any color. To accent the custom selected color for the aileron, the stain or paint custom made bamboo hardwood base can be personalized too. The Albatross Aileron Conference Table comes with a custom fitted ½-inch thick tempered glass top and can be made to accommodate customized outlets for data, power or voice cables.
