love light
If your mother, aunts, co-workers and sickening ads on TV, in the streets, specials at restaurants and bars promoting Valentine’s Day haven’t tormented you enough about the fact that you don’t have a boyfriend or even a decent date for the big day, then these cutesy little Love in the City traffic lights by Dutch designer Anke Weiss out to push you right over the edge. Basically, Weiss’s bright idea involves covering up the red stop lights on the traffic signals with a circular sticker that has a cutout in a heart-shape. Th designer plans to put it up at night so that when you’re driving home after pulling off a mammoth 16-hour work day, the street light reminds you that you have no one waiting for you back home. All the more reason to jump the light and hope a truck will ram into your car and end your miserable spinster existence for good! I’m sure you made the lights with good intentions lady, but Valentine’s is just not the time to play with traffic lights!
