LiveView allows you to control your Android-powered phone from your wrist

Sony Ericsson has unveiled a new accessory for Android-powered phones, which looks quite similar to the new iPod nano, which launched recently. Christened the LiveView, the portable device acts like a remote control for your Android-powered handset, allowing you to check your call and message logs, music and Facebook updates without pulling the handset out of your pocket.

The LiveView includes a 1.3-inch OLED touchscreen with a few basic phone functions including a “Find your Phone” feature. The LiveView is only compatible with phones running Android 2.x, which makes it incompatible with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 and the upcoming Xperia X8 devices, until the company plans to update them to newer versions. The device is expected to arrive before the end of this year at an undisclosed price. Hopefully, by then Sony Ericsson would have sorted out the OS issues of its own flagship Android devices.
