No no, they did not kill the classic arcade game by sticking LED lights on the Pong table to make it more festive. Infact, they just went ahead and reinvented the ever-so popular video game to suit the younger generations. The first-gen game that first made its way into pop culture way back in 1972, has been re-done in the guise of a super futuristic white plastic table with 2400 LEDs inside that show the puck’s position via the familiar red glow and two trackpads embedded in front of each player let players play the retro game in a totally modern avatar. Created by Moritz Waldemeyer, the Pong Table was a part of the Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition on display at The Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA) earlier this month, and thought the designer hasn’t exactly mentioned if and when the cool game table might be available in the market, we’re optimistic the mystical forces of demand and supply might be able to persuade Mr. Waldemeyer to have it out by Christmas this year!
