Developed by Jürgen Graef and Jonas Friedemann Heuer, the “Noteput” is an interactive music table that combines the senses of touch, sight and hearing to make music lessons easy and interesting for beginners. Placing the physical music notes on a tabletop screen, the musical device lets you to go through your musical creations for better understanding. Replacing the touch-sensitive controls with a simple camera-based marker tracking, the Noteput identifies the wooden note and its position on the staff for more precise tunes. Employing vvvv as a programming toolkit to support real time video synthesis, the Noteput can translate a variety of musical instruments, including piano, guitar, flute, vibraphone or e-piano, with ease.
