If you are interested to know how you could make use of unwanted books and perhaps convert them into upscale vases and furniture? Laura Cahill from London has designed vases and furniture using these unwanted books and has turned them in to works of art. Profiles of the books were cut and the spines are wrapped around test tubs so that the book vases don’t get damaged by the water when you place flowers in them.

If that weren’t enough, she has designed a lamp, a stool and more is yet to come. The stool called the ‘Heavy Read’ was built after fixing a number of old books together. The ‘Reading Light’ creates a soft but eerie luminance that causes a strange ambiance in your room. Her designs are fueled by a desire to make use of something that would otherwise have gone to the dustbin. By turning these old books into pieces of art that could change the look of your house, Laura has done a great job.
