Fat’s Garden Challenges Gravity!

thumbs

Fat has designed a 19-storey tower that will grace the Mile End Park in the east of London. The tower is sure to stand out as a marvelous piece of construction with a vertical garden, a restaurant on the ground floor and 27 flats. The building is no ordinary one but shows off a lush framework of plants on its exterior side. The director of Fat, Sean Griffiths disclosed that the tower was so designed as to stand apart from other towering residential buildings, and struck as one on a gothic pattern, which is often visualized in churches. According to Griffiths, the other striking features of the timber clad tower would comprise of ground heat pumps, and solar roof panels and walls, which would give less vent to the heat. The aim was for the demonstration of a fire resistant structure, despite the fact that it would be enveloped in timber.
