Moving large household items from the market to your home often proves expensive on both your pocket as well as the environment, as you have to hire big cargo vehicles for safe and easy transportation. Addressing the issue, student designers Onno Sminia and Louis Pierre Geerinckx, from the Delft University of Technology, have come up with an innovative cargo bike dubbed “Vrachtfiets” that provides a cheap and sustainable solution to transport big items within the city. Featuring two sets of pedals to pull heavy goods with ease, the green vehicle also integrates an electric system, which will run on solar power in the days to come, to assist the human power.
