Rocking chair converts kinetic energy into electricity to power your gadgets

By Naresh KumarChauhan   /Aug 12 2010

Keeping sustainability and ergonomics in vision, designer Shawn Kim has come up with an innovative rocking chair made using recycled materials that converts kinetic energy into electronic power to run your gadgets on renewable energy. Featuring a body finished in stainless steel and carbon fiber, the chair is not only sleek to look at and comfortable to sit on but also robust and durable. Based on the “Watch Movement” mechanism, the rocking chair includes a generator and kinetic system to harness its backward and forward movement to produce electricity. In addition, the sustainable chair integrates a LED lighting and 2-channel stereo speaker that the user can power while relaxing or listening to the music on the chair.
