Personal Mover, a short distance public transportation design

10 b1WvH 58
A design student from Hong Kong, Ms Shawn has designed a public transport system for urban area and to complement the existing systems. Christened The Personal Mover integration system, it provides the ‘door to door’ service as one may put it. The Personal Mover can be used for short distance travel and the design consists of a system of small vehicles, which are controlled independently, and they run on fixed guide ways. The concept solves problems of other public transportation systems such as fixed timetables, limited routes, having to be with strangers etc. It aims to combine the availability of public transport and the privacy of private transport. It can also be seen as a pedestrian enhancement device, which incorporates bioelectric impedance technology, which helps the user to control the vehicle. The Personal Mover comes in various designs and shapes and is one of the safest vehicles around. Being safe and small, it doesn’t take up much space and could very well be the answer to our burgeoning traffic problems.
