Nokia Essence: A concept communication device with ergonomic features

Siriphong Roongruengvuthikul has designed a future communication device named Nokia Essence. The concept will make good use of the internet and will work like computers that can connect globally. Phones are turning into mini computers that solve additional purposes than just dialing or receiving calls. Essence will introduce the concept of ‘Network of Things’ in our lives, which will include products from various categories and join them together.

The connections by Nokia Essence will be managed at two levels: Local and Global. A user will be able to connect all his devices by using the local connection, which will be an individual network and will include internet connection for all the devices that have been paired. Only the owner will be able to use these paired devices as they are not on a shared mode, but it is possible to set them on a shared option if a user wants. Simply activate global connection and Essence will help join two or more users as a global network.

The device is simple to look at and has two switches, one at each end. The top has been wedged with the local switch that will let a user turn on/off the local connection. On the other hand, its bottom features the global switch that will allow sharing with others via global connection. Nokia essence will fulfill two main functions, which will allow you to call and connect. Sliding the shells will unfurl three options that will let you dial a number, make an emergency call and go to menu. The number pad of this pocket-sized gadget has been designed in an ergonomic manner. Menu will appear magically if you hold down the number 5 key. Holding the green and red buttons for 5 seconds will let the user make an emergency call.

Nokia Essence is quite attention-grabbing and features a touch pad on the other side, which can be used to control many applications. This can be flexibly used as a remote control for different pieces of equipment or wireless touch pad while making presentations. The sleek gadget will shower ergonomic comfort and will become an important part of everyday life.
