Futuristic vehicle concepts have a strange way of being unrealistic projections that look like they belong only in sci-fi novel and can never possibly see the light of the day. But the Huella concept vehicle created by designers Robert Reid and Jacqueline Savage bypasses that pitfall and draws on the current trend of vehicle design and improves upon the existing silhouettes featured in the current lot of cars.

Since the year 2030 is just two decades away and we already have major automakers planning to debut their contemporary cars over the next five years, it is more than realistic to say that vehicle design will not take a radical and outlandish turn in the fifteen years that follow the year 2015 and that we can fully expect cars to still look something like they do today when we embark upon the third decade of the new millennium.
The Huella concept vehicle thus becomes an intelligent and feasible design that looks to fit in the sociological context of what urban life will be like 20 years from now. The vehicle has the ability to be adjusted to various types of uses and be powered without leaving behind a huge environmental footprint. The car features adjustable seating that allows users to easily entering and exit the vehicle by simply moving the front and rear seats laterally or by rotating them around a central axis. This mechanism allows users to maximize cabin space.
The hatchback-style vehicle also features an extending rear luggage compartment that can be adjusted to increase or decrease boot space storage as and when required. The compact vehicle is aimed primarily at city-based users and can easily fit into cramped urban parking spaces with ease.
Running on hydrogen and fuel cell power, the all-wheel drive features an electric motor in the front and hub motors in the rear. The aluminum chassis used in conjunction with basalt fibre panels and scratch resistant polycarbonate windows allows the 3500L x 1520W x 1700H vehicle to sit lightly on the curb and produce maximum mileage for the amount of fuel used.On a full charge, the car would produce a drive range of 300km making it the ideal compact hatchback for an urban family.
