House of Furniture Parts, a space within a space

Revealed at the Droog exhibition in Milan recently, the House of Furniture Parts by Studio Makkink & Bey is a small yet serviceable house featuring walls implanted with furniture parts, which pop out of the walls to become a functional furniture unit for regular use. Creating an extra space within a space, users may carve out various furniture units, like a stool, table and bench, by employing different patterns set into the walls. Finished with CNC cut plywood, the House of Furniture Parts allows greater flexibility to the users, who may create a separate room within a house, a cabin within a office or personal private workspaces within large studios and lofts. Moreover, the modular unit can be packed flat for easy storage as well as transportation.
