Annie MG Schmidt House to refurbishing Amsterdam’s Zeeburg district

Winning entry at the adaptive reuse design competition, the Annie MG Schmidt House by Arons en Gelauff Architects is a multifunctional cultural center that accommodates a wide range of diverse activities. Featuring a spectacular open rooftop playground on one side and restaurant Praq op ‘t daq on the other, the structure also includes a number of exhibition spaces and media center, theater, tower room and shops, welcoming the visitors from home and abroad throughout the week. Located in Amsterdam’s Zeeburg district, the structure is the brainchild of, Annie MG Schmidt, who’s the most famous author of children’s books in Holland. The silo’s rooftop restaurant other than catering delicious meals also presents a panoramic view of the entire city. Slated to complete in 201, the cultural center, offering diverse activities under single roof, looks keen on refurbishing the disposition of the new Zeeburgereiland housing district.
