Steampunk is derived from Victorian science fiction, speculative fiction, and fantasy. The Victorian period as referenced by Steampunk is actually a part of the 19th century during which significant industrial advancements took place. So Steampunk is essentially a subculture. It started off as a literary genre and ended up as a subgenre of science fiction.
Steampunk art, aesthetics, and imagination are connected to a period in time when the world became more mechanized. People started living the urban life, telecommunications was born, manufacturing industries were automated, and there were a lot of path-breaking developments. Radically connotations of 19th century societal and technological aspects are incorporated in Steampunk culture and art. Steam punk is a take on the developments during this time. For example, some of the inspirations in Steampunk art is steam powered aircrafts and mechanically operated computers. So what has Steampunk got to do with computer mouse? Steampunk aficionados rework on the designs of modern day computer peripherals to give it a look reminiscent of the Victorian era. The following are some really cool Steampunk computer mouse designs.

This is an incredibly amazing looking mouse. By its look, you can see the reflections of Victorian art in the design. On the mouse there are symbols representing a supernatural theme. Incantations embossed on the brass exteriors add a magical touch.
2. Rhombus Maximus Wireless Mouse
Steampunk design lovers will love the weird look of this mouse. The almost-rhombus-shaped mouse displays an eclectic Victorian exterior. 3. Furnace Mouse
Ace designer Unklian seems to be on fire with this design. His brainchild designer mouse called Steampunk Furnace Mouse combines abstractions of Steampunk imagery. Looking like a furnace, owning to the window-pane like structures, the mouse is an off-red to represent the color of the furnace. Now it is surely a steamy invention.

6. Jake’s Steampunk Mouse
Jake’s Steampunk Mouse is a quirky piece of computer-mouse design. Nicknamed the ‘’bug’’, this mouse design is unconventional in use too. Moving the mouse forward will make the cursor move downward and vice versa. The wheel at the center can be used like a forward and back button on web pages.
7. Paradox Mouse
The paradox mouse reverberates with Victorian charm. Enclosed in a mouse skull, spine, and shoulder blades, the computer mouse is literally a mouse – an automatic one made in the spirit of antiquity. The skull is ornate and is more like a crown!
8. Sheep-skull Steampunk Mouse
This mouse is made from real sheep-skull. The skull covers the top part of the mouse. The body is made from brass. Ornate to a great extent, the finishing of the exterior is detailed. When you click the mouse, it’s almost like you are crushing skull each time!
