Electric Rickshaw moves on in-wheel motors to turn on its axis

Developed for the “Peugeot Concours Design” competition, the “Electric Rickshaw” by Mexican designer Joao Lueiro is an urban mobility vehicle to commute safely on cramped city roads. Accommodating two passengers with ease, the vehicle concept features a wide windshield that other than providing a clear view of the surroundings also splits and slides sideways to allow entry to the passengers. Running on two wheels with built-in motors to help it turn on its axis, the Electric Rickshaw makes use of the technology of gyroscopes for balancing. The wheels are attached to an asymmetrical axle, which helps them change their relative centers with the cabin to manage different dynamic positions.
