Intended for students and young professionals living away from their families, the “Dish5” by Russian designer Alexey Bykov is a conceptual home device that lets users enjoy delicious and hygienic food without wasting any time as well as effort. Integrating to the computer and wireless technologies like cellphones, the Dish5 lets users learn new unusual recipes, other than baking the food in most nutritious manner. Based on the Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) technology, the Dish5 not only simplifies control process extensively, but also minimize the cooking time and simplifies process of interaction with user. With the Dish5, users may simultaneously cook diverse dishes, without worrying about different baking time required for various dishes, as it sets separate baking time for each food cell in accordance with the components and the recipe. Moreover, the Dish5 doesn’t require any water and oil for cooking, allowing a healthy meal within no time. The Dish5 was among the top 20 semifinal entries for the student competition Electrolux Design Lab 2008.
