Computer designed Vendôme concrete furniture

Conceptualized by Reed Kram and Clemens Weisshaar, the Vendôme line of concrete furniture is created using a special computer programme which makes this project endlessly intriguing. Featuring concrete stools, pedestals and tables, the form of each item will be generated parametrically by software that creates an endless stream of different designs with a select few being handpicked to be manufactured. The designs will then be structured into moulds which will finally be used to create the end product. The body of work takes a precondition of endless transformation as its point of departure and tries to reconcile the conflict between the dynamism of software and the permanence of concrete. The project will be exhibited at Design Miami/Basel in June where Kram/Weisshaar will also be honored as one of the four Designers of the Future.
