Challenging the Ariel Atom V8 and Caparo T1, British sports car manufacturer Climax Cars has developed a radically different car that running on a Ford Racing-supplied 4.6-litre V8 engine will produce 345bhp and 305lb ft for a power ride. Designed by Simon Long and Marcus Rayner, the “Sports Racer,” as indicated by its name, is a sports coupe that weighs just 1,999 pounds (907 kilograms), thanks to the aluminum chassis and body, which not only reduces the weight of the car but also improves the handling, performance and economy of the car. Integrating a six-speed Graziano GT ME1 gearbox that sends power to the wheels, the Sports Racer touts double wishbone suspension all round that can be adjusted to run on both the road and track. The rear-drive Climax Sports Racer includes a small wind-deflecting windscreen, ceramic brakes, full race harnesses and sequential and semi-automatic gearbox for a controlled drive. The limited edition (200 in number) sports car is expected to cost around £92,000 ($150,000).
