Benidorm Casino Tower: A twirling addition to the skyline!

The coastal town of Benidorm in Spain is known for its skyline, already replete with towering skyscrapers. If everything goes smoothly, there would soon be another addition to this impressive skyline – Casino MediterrĂ¡neo. A concept for a casino building, this proposal by Spanish firm Adolfo Rodriguez Architects reflects a growing liking for twisting towers on the current architectural scene. The Benidorm Casino Tower will stand at 260 meters, which although will be far less than Puig Campana (Benidorm’s 1406 meters tall mountain), and will be good enough to tower above several of the existing skyscrapers. Standing a little inland off the beautiful coast, the tower will have a spiraling form. Two interweaving facades will spiral upwards and at the peak, the structure will extend into a spire. The façade will have a regal look thanks to an all-white form pictured by the designers; the color is a reflection of the architects’ vision to build a lighthouse. The form will stand tall amidst the greenery and will be quite a spectacle. At the top of the building will be an expansive sky garden for the casino visitors. Besides creating a structure that is inspiring and beautiful, the towers are to house a casino. It will lure the visiting tourists and gamblers with the best of amenities inside. To that end pools, spas, gymnasiums and all such expected additions to the hotel are proposed. Still for the lovers of architecture, the attraction will remain the twisting and twirling form of the Casino Tower.
