3X3: A space-maximizing bathroom/dressing room concept

3X3 modern bathroom

I’ve never really met anyone who said their bathroom was big enough and with the ever shrinking real-estate space in the cities, it is but natural that we get see more and more designers trying to make limited space offer more function. This is exactly what the 3X3 concept by Hyun Jin Park looks to achieve and does so quite spectacularly.

The streamlined design allows users to convert a very limited space into a modern bathroom as well as using the same space as a fully functional and comfortable dressing room.

The module-based design is formed of streamlined components that allow users the functionality of both the bathroom and dressing room fittings without making the user realize the limitations of the confined space. The 3×3 space has a circular middle and this peculiarity allows the concept to use the space in the middle to manipulate the space in the corners.

The bath tub fitted in the middle part rotates 360 degrees and allows the user to reveal or conceal the toilet, the washstand, the shower booth and the cabinet that are fitted in each corner. Users can select functions and rotate the middle layer via controls installed on the entrance both at the inner and as well as the outer side.

A touch screen control panel is also fitted at the center of the bathtub and comes with a timer function that allows users to preset the open/close function. The smooth transitional design allows maximum use of a small space and since the whole design is planned inside a cubical space, it can be seamlessly integrated in most existing small apartment spaces.
